Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a lawyer?
If you have been charged with a crime, been served with a
lawsuit or are considering divorce you most likely need a
lawyer.
  • If you are charged with a crime, remember: NEVER talk to
anyone except your attorney about your case.

How quickly should I hire a lawyer?
An experienced attorney will help you determine your rights
and discuss the best course of action for your particular legal
issue.  The sooner you act, the more protection you will have.

What information should I give my attorney?
Tell your attorney the whole story - whatever it might involve.
You should be completely honest. The attorney you hire is
representing your best interests, and any information shared
with him/her will be kept confidential.

What should I expect?
Most people have little or no experience with the legal system.
Your attorney should explain each step of the legal process,
and you should feel comfortable asking questions when you
have one.

No attorney can guarantee the outcome of any particular case.
Don't expect to "win" on every issue.  Whether your case is
resolved by a trial, or by a negotiated settlement, your
attorney should give you a realistic projection of the possible
outcome of the case.
